چکیده
Safety assurance is of paramount importance in the air transportation system. In this paper, we analyze historical passenger airline accidents that happened from 1982 to 2006 as reported National Transportation Board (NTSB) aviation accident database. A four-step procedure formulated construct a Bayesian network capture causal relationships embedded sequences these accidents. First all, with respect each accident, graphical representation developed facilitate visualization escalation initiating events into Next, develop all by aggregating accident-wise representations together, where and dependent among wide variety contributory factors outcomes terms aircraft damage personnel injury are captured. network, prior probabilities estimated based on occurrence times departure data Bureau Statistics (BTS). To estimate conditional monotonically increasing function, whose parameters calibrated using probability information single available data. Finally, computer program automate generation compliance XML format used commercial GeNIe modeler. The constructed then fed modeler for analysis. mapping NTSB facilitates both forward propagation backward inference probabilistic analysis, thereby supporting investigations risk Several cases demonstrate approach.

A Historical Perspective on Aviation Accident Investigation
When the editor suggested that we write a piece for this 50 edition of the newsletter, it seemed appropriate to reflect on the longer term history of our field and, in particular, to focus on the topic of accident investigation which has been the focus of our previous work. In early 1928, the Assistant Secretaries for Aeronautics in the Departments of War, Navy, and Commerce in the United State...
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Accident scenarios for an integrated aviation safety model
In support of the Systems Approach to Safety Oversight (SASO) program, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has initiated research for the development of an integrated safety model. The proposed model architecture introduces a hybrid causal model of Event Sequence Diagrams, Fault Trees and Bayesian Belief Nets. The objective of this study conducted by NLR is the development of generic a...
متن کاملBayesian-network-based safety risk assessment for steel construction projects.
There are four primary accident types at steel building construction (SC) projects: falls (tumbles), object falls, object collapse, and electrocution. Several systematic safety risk assessment approaches, such as fault tree analysis (FTA) and failure mode and effect criticality analysis (FMECA), have been used to evaluate safety risks at SC projects. However, these traditional methods ineffecti...
متن کاملInvestigation of Qom Rural Area Water Network Accident in 2010 and Minimization Approaches of Accident Frequencies
Background & Aims of the Study: Accidents in water networks can lead to increase the uncounted water, costs of repair, maintenance, restoration and enter water contaminants to water network. The aim of this study is to survey the accidents of Qom rural water network and choose the right approaches to reduce the number of accidents. Materials & Methods: In this cross...
